Could someone please explain to them that “corporations” are the ones that hire them when they graduate. And if you tax them heavily they won’t be hiring so much. So instead of getting a job when you graduate, you will find yourself begging the government for a handout. I’ll admit that I voted Liberal in 1993 – when I was 18. I then quickly realized that businesses were not evil entities but instead providers of wealth. And when you tax them heavily they tend to go out of business (or, at the very least, not hire people). I have always been surrounded by Liberals. I got a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies for crying out loud. I was surrounded by granola eating tree huggers. But I still voted Reform. Are today’s youth so weak that they can’t stand on their own. They have to conform to the “norm” that their student unions dictate? My Ph.D supervisor was Dr. Ellsworth LeDrew. His brother was Stephen LeDrew – President of the Liberal Party of Canada. I still managed to forge my own opinion and not only vote Reform but actively campaign for them. Are today’s youth so weak-kneed that they can’t formulate their own opinions and stand by their own convictions? They read an op-ed piece in their university newspaper and it becomes their ideological narrative?
