Can you imagine the outrage if Brock Lesnar had “White Pride” tattooed across his chest? The media would be all over it and I wouldn’t be surprised if he would be banned from the UFC due to pressure from lefties. But current UFC champion Cain Velasquez has “Brown Pride” boldly tattooed across his chest and the only thing you can hear is the crickets chirping. Moral of the story? You can be a racist if your skin is any color other than white. Does that make me a racist for saying that (I am white so the answer is probably yes)?
“White Pride” has deep historical connotations to the Nazis, skinheads, KKK and other groups. Also, for the last couple centuries, the Western world have been great oppressors — killing off Aboriginals, the African slave trade, imperialism around the world from South America to Asia, etc. I think all of these contributed to the term “White Pride” being taboo.
Yeah, it’s a huge contentious issue in MMA among many fans who think the whole brown pride thing is a bit much. Plus we’re all pretty pissed off he’s taking an 8-month vacation now because of an alleged hurt shoulder. Strip the belt and give it back to Brock to defend.
It does not make you a racist in the eyes of people with any common sense. But I imagine you will get some lefty clowns jumping in soon.
I what I have read there were many blacks involved in the slave trade as well as whites…both were wrong. I also understand that slavery is still going on in Africa… and it is still wrong.
Adrain, or at the very least, make an interim title fight until Velasquez “recuperates”. Juniour Desantos deserves that much and he shouldn’t have to wait that long. The trouble is, trying to find an opponent for Desantos. I don’t want Mir, or Lesnar getting another shot. Man, is the heavyweight division ever hurting right now.
There are a number of fighters I wish would hang up the groves: Mir, Liddell, Franklin, Tito, Couture. The UFC needs to let go of the past. Superstars in other sports usually know when to retire but these guys are just embarrassing themselves.

Chuckie did hang up the gloves. He’s now working for the UFC as an ambassador or something. And Randy Couture has hinted he won’t be back. Tito Ortiz has one more shot I think, coming up against Lil Nog. I do have to disagree with you about Rich Franklin though. I think he’s going to beat Forrest Griffin.
